10 DynaMo members attend the Third International Glucosinolate Conference in Wageningen 12-15 October 2014

Glucosinolates

DynaMo is well represented at the Third international glucosinolate conference to take place in Wageningen, Holland, 12-15 October 2015. Head of DynaMo Professor Barbara Ann Halkier is keynote speaker and DynaMo member Associate Professor Hussam Nour-Eldin is invited speaker.

University of Wageningen, NL, will host the third international glucosinolate congress entitled "Glucosinolates and beyond" on 12-15 October 2014. The interdisciplinary conference will cover the full range of current basic and applied glucosinolate research.

Glucosinolates and DynaMo

An essential aspect of DynaMo's research plan is to use the glucosinolate defense compounds within the plant Arabidopsis thaliana as a unique model system to uncover molecular interactions that coordinate and facilitate dynamic biological processes in a multicellular organism. Therefore it is great that as many as ten DynaMo researchers will attend the conference.

Head of DynaMo Professor Barbara Ann Halkier is invited keynote speaker. On Monday 13 October, she will open the first session with a talk entitled "Pathway and transport processes in specialized metabolism – using
glucosinolates as case study". Later on that same day Associate Professor Hussam Nour-Eldin will give a talk on "Glucosinolate transport processes in Arabidopsis thaliana". In addition several other members of DYnaMo will give poster presentations of their recent research on glucosinolates.
