Frederikke Gro Malinovsky promoted to Assistant Professor

NEW position

Plant geneticist and molecular biologist Frederikke Gro Malinovsky has been at DynaMo Center for three years as a postdoc and since November 2015 she serves as an Assistant Professor.

Frederikke has 13 publications in international peer reviewed journals; during 2014 she published no less than 5 papers

Active networker and initiator

Together with DynaMo partner Professor Daniel Kliebenstein from UC Davis, USA, she set out to search for endogenous roles among DynaMo’s favorit model metabolites, the glucosinolates. After three fruitful years at the center, she is now promoted to Assistant Professor.

Next to her exciting research, Frederikke has also been active in teaching and supervision. She is also a remarkable networker who is now hosting the third season of a cross departmental seminar series on plant pathology.

Plant immunity expertise

Frederikke’s background is within plant immunity signalling. She did her PhD work on programmed cell death in immunity at the Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen. In 2008 she spend four months at the University of Würzburg in Germany as part of her PhD work.

In 2009, she obtained a postdoc position at the prestigious Sainsbury Laboratory in Norwich, UK. Here she moved from immunity programmed cell death to basal immune signalling. The Sainsbury Laboratory being situated in the John Innes Centre; both top international centres within plant and microbial sciences.

In 2012 she moved back to Denmark to obtain a senior postdoc position at DynaMo Center where she expanded her immunity expertise to encompass defence metabolism.
