Title of MSc Thesis

Non-invasive bioimaging of RNA-protein interactions

Abstract

More and more regulatory RNAs, including long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are being identified as molecular components of regulatory networks in eukaryotic organisms. In plants, lncRNAs are for example involved in shaping developmental transitions, and their functions typically relies on mobility between cellular compartments or between different tissues. Understanding lncRNA function thus requires developing methods to study the dynamics of RNA localization in vivo. This thesis describes the initial steps of combining BiFC and FRET-FLIM measurements to design genetically encoded reporters non-invasive imaging of RNAs in plants.
