DynaMo master student Victor de Prado Parralejo defends his MSc thesis in Biology-Biotechnology

On Tuesday 29 October, DynaMo master student Victor de Prado Parralejo successfully defended his MSc thesis in Biology-Biotechnology in front of a full lecture hall with friends and colleagues. The title of Victor's thesis is ' A novel untargeted extract-based approach to unravel transporters' substrate spectra'

.

A pleased Victor after the defence with supervisor Hussam Nour-Eldin

In his MSc project, Víctor focused on the development of an untargeted screen method to scrutinize the substrate spectra of membrane transporters. This approach was used to assess the substrate specificity of well-characterized plant transporters, where the results supported the current paradigm of substrate multispecificity of the NPF family. Additionally, the methods developed enabled the identification of a novel substrate for the NPF family supported by in-planta results.

Congratulations!
