Congratulations Svend!
Today DynaMo PhD student Svend Roesen Madsen was awarded the PhD degree for a thesis on experimental plant science. Svend's thesis is entitled Elucidating the roles of transport processes in glucosinolate distribution and is a multidisciplinary project centering around transport of the defence compounds glucosinolates in either the model plant Arabidopsis Thaliana or in the crop Brassica rapa.
Svend completed his work under the supervision of Professor Barbara Ann Halkier and Associate Professor Hussam Nour-Eldin.
In front of colleagues, friends and family, Svend gave a well-structured oral presentation of his work. This was followed by a successful discussion with the three members of the assessment committee Professor Jonathan Gerchenzon from the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena; Associate Professor Georg Jander from the Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research, USA; and Associate Professor Tom Hamborg Nielsen from the University of Copenhagen. The committee unaimously reccommends that he is awarded the PhD degree.
Congratulations Svend!
