Lea Gram Hansen receives MIT Fellowship
DynaMo PhD student Lea Gram Hansen is awarded a 6-months fellowship at Massachusetts Institute of Tecnology (MIT) by The Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation.
In the middle of October 2016, Lea Gram Hansen, who is a second year PhD student at DynaMo, will go to MIT for a 6-months stay in the lab of Jing-Ke Weng at Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, MIT, MA, USA.
Specialized metabolism
Jing-Ke Weng is known for his excellent work on plant metabolic evolution. He has broad interests in understanding the origin and evolution of plant specialized metabolism at enzyme, pathway, and systems levels, as well as how plants exploit discrete small molecules to interact with their surrounding biotic and abiotic environments.
Partnership agreement
In addition to the MIT Fellowship, Lea has also received a travel grant of DKK 15,000 from The Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation.
With the aim of boosting scientific collaboration between Denmark and the United States, The Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation (DASTI) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have entered into a partnership agreement. As part of this agreement DASTI offers fellowships at MIT to talented PhD students and postdocs employed by Danish universities. This year Lea Gram Hansen is one of the ten awardees.
